Corpus Medicorum uses Players.CM to manage membership records for our players. We handle your personal information as per the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) outlined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This page explains how we collect, store and use your information.
Using Players.CM we may collect:
We collect this information directly from you: when you register for an account, edit your profile, submit or withdraw an expression of interest for a concert, or upload a payment receipt. We do not collect personal information about you from third parties without your knowledge.
We use your information only to run the orchestra. This includes tasks such as:
None of your details is shared outside of Players.CM. That is, those who are not registered users of Players.CM cannot see any aspect of your information. They may, however, see your full name and seating positions on printed Corpus Medicorum concert programmes.
Within Players.CM, other (non-admin) players can see only your full name and your confirmed concert seatings. They cannot see your contact information, your profile picture, your orchestral and instrumental experiences, your occupational history, and your expressions of interest.
Corpus Medicorum admins can see all information you provide to us.
Your information is stored in an access-controlled database. Access is restricted to Corpus Medicorum admins who need it to perform the functions above, and to the hosting infrastructure that runs Players.CM. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps, including access controls, encrypted connections and regular backups, to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Players.CM uses only the following cookies, all of which are strictly necessary for the site to function. We do not use any analytics, advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
sessionid: keeps you logged in and identifies your session to the server.csrftoken: a security token used to protect your account and data from cross-site request forgery attacks.We also store your light/dark display preference in your browser's local storage, rather than a cookie. Your browser may also cache files served through Players.CM.
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or any other purpose. Your data is used solely for Corpus Medicorum's internal orchestra administration described above. The only exceptions are where we are required or authorised to disclose information by Australian law (for example, in response to a lawful request), or with your express consent.
You can view and update most of your information at any time from Edit profile. For anything you cannot update yourself, or to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, contact us using the details below.
We retain your personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law (for example, financial records relating to subscription payments). If you mark your account as inactive or ask us to delete your information, we will remove or de-identify it once it is no longer required to be kept.
If you have a concern about how your personal information has been handled, please contact us first at players.cm@corpusmedicorum.org.au so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
We may update this policy from time to time as Players.CM changes. The current version will always be available on this page.
